Study Time!
Morning Star Christian Academy (MSCA) was birthed in 1994. Beginning that first year with only 11 students, MSCA has now grown to almost 300 students anually from pre-school to 12th grade! MSCA is considered one of three premier private American schools in the nation, with graduates who attend universities throughout the United States.

MSCA's purpose is to educate and equip this generation with a biblical worldview and an academic education that will carry them into all parts of society including the arts, business, medicine and science, education and politics. Our desire is to see tommorrow's future leaders educated and equipped for all that God has called them to do.

In a nation where education is lacking and illiteracy sometimes tops over 50% of the nation, it is our desire to provide a place where families had the opportunity to see their children educated so that they would have the needed skills to excel in life as they pursue the destiny God has on their lives.

Dr. Jay Threadgill graduated from the International Bible Institute and Seminary in Orlando FL, and received his Doctorate in Biblical Studies from Jacksonville Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Linda,  have served the Lord in the nation of Haiti for the past 25 years. Pastor Jay is the senior pastor of L'eglise sur le Rocher (Church on the Rock) located in Port Au Prince which is one of the largest churches in the nation with close to 8000 members. Pastor Jay is also the director of Fishers of Men Ministries (FOMM) which has planted over 25 churches throughout the nation, as well as 14 academic schools, and 4 accredited bible schools. FOMM also facilitates a feeding program which feeds nearly 3000 students daily throughout Port Au Prince and the provinces of Haiti. FOMM has also been involved in the relief efforts and rebuilding efforts since the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti which includes a medical clinic and home rebuilding program.

Mrs. Linda Threadgill (affectionately known as Mrs. Linda) is the founder and director of MSCA, along with being one of the senior ministers at L'eglise sur le Rocher (Church on the Rock) with her husband. Mrs. Linda is a proud mom and grandmother and it was because of the many children in her life that she had such a desire to birth MSCA. Recognizing the great need for quality education and having a dream that God placed in her heart she began building MSCA from an idea into a reality! Soon approaching it's 20 year anniversary in 2014, Mrs. Linda is more determined than ever to see MSCA go to new levels of excellence. Mrs. Linda has a heart to see children given a quality education, but more than that she desires to see this generation living whole-heartedly for Jesus.

Mr. Hal Nungester is the Administrator and Principal of MSCA and has been with the school since 2003. Mr. Hal has held various positions over the years including 11th/12th grade teacher and guidance counselor. Mr Hal received his Bachelor of Arts degree in applied behavioral sciences in 1988 from the National Louis University (Evanston, IL) and a Master of Buisness Administration degree in 1991 from Ashland University (Ashland Ohio).

Mr. Hal is an ordained minister and served in the US Air Force for 10 years. He has lived in Haiti with his wife Chris since 2002. Together they run H.I.S. Home for Children, an orphanage in Port Au Prince that currently houses 120 children ranging from infants to age 16.
